Nokia has been running an art project used to inspire developers to create on the Windows Phone platform.

Called the Always-on Telephone club, the work was commissions by Nokia and asked developers to create a project which visualized interconnected telephone nodes using 50 Nokia Lumia 920s.

The work was eventually displayed in Microsoft’s art gallery setting in London.

While I am sure this is a novel way of engaging developers who may not otherwise have worked on Windows Phone, I wonder what the ultimate return on investment in, and whether the talent could not have been turned to creating something more useful.
